If your not having a problem, there is no need for additives. 4. Regular service is crucial towards keeping your septic system in working order. Have your tank pumped a minimum of every 3 to 5 years. If you have a effluent filter, you need to clean it at least once a year. 5. On new systems, you might encounter some odors as the new bacteria builds. There is no need to be alarmed when this happens, it’s completely normal. As the bacterial balance establishes, the odors will disappear. |
